Documentation
This is the public documentation for Instagram Feeds. Open it anytime at https://instagramfeed.it3.in/documentation. Short answers are also on the FAQ. Support: info@artifyanni.com.
1. What the app does
Instagram Feeds displays public Instagram posts on your Shopify storefront. You save a username in the app, add the Instagram Feed block in the theme editor, then visitors see posts, a profile header, and a popup when they click a post.
2. Install and open the app
- Install Instagram Feeds from the Shopify App Store.
- In Shopify Admin, open Apps, then Instagram Feeds. You will see Home and How to use in the left menu.
3. Connect a public Instagram username
- On Home, type a public Instagram username. Do not include @.
- Keep Enable feed turned on.
- Click Save. Posts should appear in Preview on the same page.
Private accounts cannot be loaded. The first Save fetches posts right away. After that, each store refreshes that username about every 6 hours.
4. Add the feed to your theme
- Go to Online Store, then Themes, then Customize.
- Open the page where you want the feed (often the homepage).
- Click Add section, or add a block inside a section that accepts apps.
- Choose Instagram Feed.
- Click Save in the theme editor, then view the storefront.
Layout and design are controlled in Theme Customize, not only on Home.
5. Theme editor settings
Layout
Choose how posts are arranged:
- Classic Grid: even rows of square posts.
- Masonry Grid: Pinterest-style varying heights.
- Horizontal Slider: several cards in a row with previous and next arrows. Drag or swipe to move.
- Instagram Carousel: rounded cards with carousel controls.
- Featured Post: one large post beside smaller supporting posts.
- Two Column, Three Column, Four Column, Five Column: fixed grids.
- Spotlight: one large focused post with smaller posts.
- Minimal Cards: posts in clean card frames.
- Magazine: editorial two-column composition.
- Lookbook: taller fashion-style images.
- Full Width Slider: one large slide at a time, with arrows and dots.
- Bento Grid: mixed large and small tiles.
Spacing
Small, Medium, or Large gap between posts.
Number of posts
Slider from 1 to 12. This is how many posts that block shows on the storefront.
Show profile header above feed
When on, the feed shows your Instagram name, username, post count, follower count, following count, and a Follow button. Counts come from Instagram. They are never invented. Turn this off to show posts only.
Header layout
- Classic Row: photo on the left, stats on the right.
- Centered: larger photo stacked in the middle.
- Compact: smaller single row.
- Profile Card: header inside a card.
- Stacked Stats: stats on a second row.
Show captions in popup
Captions are not shown under feed images. When this setting is on, the caption appears in the lightbox after a visitor clicks a post.
6. Storefront popup
Click a post to open the popup. It can include the image or video, likes and comments when Instagram provides them, the date, real comments when available, and a View on Instagram link. Use arrows or the keyboard to move between posts. Press Escape to close. Follow opens the Instagram profile.
7. Updates and cache
Each store refreshes on its own 6-hour schedule after a successful fetch. You do not need to click Save again for the first storefront load. Older saved posts stay in the feed.
8. Troubleshooting
- Blank storefront: Save a public username on Home until Preview shows posts, add the Instagram Feed block, then save the theme.
- Private account: switch to a public username.
- Enable feed is off: turn it on and click Save.
- New posts: each store checks again about 6 hours after its last successful fetch. Older saved posts remain available.
